China is definitely on a "LONG MARCH" (pardon the pun)... to economic success? yes... but also on its ambitions... MILITARILY.
not just on conventional fields but as well as on cyberspace and yes, outerspace (well, they're planning a moon trip).
while Iraq and the still running strong war on terror has been draining US defense spending budget, China is on the pickup... picking up every material that can contribute to its capability to flex its military muscle not just in Asia but on the world theater.
A strong military is a bargaining chip... an ace on the sleeve... a rabbit's foot... and a sharp knife on the left hand behind one's back while the right hand is comfortably resting on the shoulder.
All it takes is the right time.
missiles capable of covering North America, that can shoot down satellites and all the money to spread around the third world from profits earned from the West.
in theory, we might be contributing to the ascension of a new world power, the purpose of which still to be determined.
think about it.
